Senator Aminu Tambuwal Accuses President Tinubu of Destabilising Opposition Parties in Nigeria

Senator Aminu Tambuwal, a key member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition, has accused President Bola Tinubu’s administration of actively working to destabilise opposition parties in Nigeria. He made these remarks during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today program on Friday.

Tambuwal stated, “If I’m invited by the police I will appear; the interpretation and reading of meaning into the invitation is totally a different ball game altogether.” He called on the police to act cautiously in their dealings with opposition figures.

He emphasized that despite denials, Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) are involved in efforts aimed at undermining opposition parties. “You don’t need to be told the amount of denial that they, including Tinubu, are involved in destabilising efforts of opposition parties. I’m saying that they are involved in efforts aimed at destabilising the opposition,” he said.

Tambuwal further expressed disappointment with Tinubu’s leadership, stating, “I’m shocked that under Tinubu’s watch, Nigeria is being run the way it’s run today and I can’t say that I’m disappointed because I campaigned against him.”

Additionally, Tambuwal clarified his political loyalties when asked about a choice between former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike. He said he would support Atiku based on principles, not personal friendships.
